Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

ReadyGoTools (“ReadyGoTools”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website, the online tools provided on it, and the software applications we make available for download (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Section 2 deals specifically with software you download and install on your own computer, which is handled very differently from the website.

ReadyGoTools is a brand of MKB Platinum. Software we publish may be listed under the publisher name MKB Platinum, for example in the Microsoft Store. Both names refer to the same business.

1) Information we collect on this website

A) Files you upload to use the online tools

When you upload files (images or other supported formats) to convert, compress, resize, or otherwise process, those files are handled by our systems only to provide the output you requested.

  • Temporary processing: Uploads and outputs may be stored temporarily so the tool can run and you can download results.
  • Auto-deletion: Temporary files are automatically deleted after a short period or after processing completes (whichever comes first), subject to operational limitations described below.
  • No public sharing: We do not intentionally publish your uploaded files.

B) Usage, device, and log data

Like most websites, we collect standard technical data automatically for security and operations:

  • IP address (may approximate location)
  • Device type, operating system, browser type/version
  • Referring/exit pages, timestamps, and performance metrics
  • Tool usage events (e.g., tool opened, process started, download requested)
  • Security and error logs (to prevent abuse and fix issues)

C) Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies/local storage to:

  • Keep the site working properly (security/session)
  • Remember preferences
  • Measure performance and usage
  • Support advertising (if enabled)

D) Contact form submissions

If you contact us, we collect the information you submit (for example: your name, email address, message content, and any attachments you choose to include).

2) Downloadable software (desktop applications)

This section applies to software you download from us and install on your own computer, including RGT Screen Dimmer & Blue Light Filter and any other ReadyGoTools desktop application, however you obtained it (our website, the Microsoft Store, or another distribution channel).

A) What the software collects: nothing

Our desktop applications run entirely on your own computer. They do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Specifically:

  • No account and no registration. You do not sign in, and we do not know who you are.
  • No network connections. The application does not contact our servers or any third-party server. It does not phone home, check for updates automatically, or send anything anywhere.
  • No telemetry or analytics. We do not collect usage statistics, feature usage, diagnostics, crash reports, device identifiers, IP addresses, or location.
  • No advertising and no tracking. There are no adverts, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking code inside the application.
  • No access to your files. The application does not read, scan, index, or upload your documents, photos, or any other content on your computer.
  • No screen capture. The application changes how your display is lit and coloured. It does not record, capture, or transmit what is shown on your screen.

B) What is stored on your own computer

So that the application remembers your settings between sessions, it saves a small plain-text settings file in your own user profile, for example at %LOCALAPPDATA%\ReadyGoTools\ScreenDimmer\settings.ini. This file contains only your chosen preferences, such as brightness and filter levels. It never leaves your computer, and we have no access to it.

If, and only if, you switch on the option to start the application automatically when you sign in, the application adds a standard startup entry under your own Windows user account (HKEY_CURRENT_USER). Switching the option off removes it.

C) Removing the software

To remove a portable application downloaded from our website, delete its folder. To also remove your saved settings, delete the ReadyGoTools folder inside %LOCALAPPDATA%. If you installed the application from the Microsoft Store, uninstall it the same way you would any other Store app.

D) When you leave the application

The application contains links to our website, for example a support link. Clicking one opens your normal web browser. From that point you are on our website, and the website sections of this Privacy Policy apply.

E) Download counts

When a file is downloaded from our website, our web server increases an anonymous counter so we can see how many times a tool has been downloaded in total. This is a simple tally. It is not linked to you, your computer, or your copy of the software, and it happens on our website rather than inside the application.

F) Distribution through third-party stores

If you obtained the software from the Microsoft Store or another third-party store or platform, that provider operates independently of us and may collect its own information about your download, installation, and account under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your personal information from them, and we have no control over their practices. Please review the policy of the store you used.

3) How we use information

  • Provide the Service (process files, generate outputs, deliver downloads)
  • Security (rate limiting, bot protection, fraud/abuse detection)
  • Reliability (debugging, monitoring, performance improvements)
  • Support (responding to inquiries)
  • Analytics (understanding usage and improving tools)
  • Legal compliance (enforcing Terms, responding to lawful requests)

4) File handling, retention, and limitations (important)

This section applies to the online tools on this website. It does not apply to downloadable software, which does not upload anything.

ReadyGoTools is designed to minimize retention of your uploaded files. However:

  • Temporary storage is required to process files and deliver results.
  • Deletion is not instant and may be delayed by queues, errors, retries, maintenance, or system load.
  • Backups: Some systems may create short-lived backups or snapshots. We do not use backups to access your content and they expire automatically on a schedule.

Do not upload sensitive files (government IDs, financial info, medical records, confidential legal documents). If you choose to upload sensitive content, you do so at your own risk.

5) Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your uploaded file contents. We may share limited information in these situations:

  • Service providers that help operate the Service (hosting, security, analytics, CDN, error monitoring)
  • Legal and safety to comply with law, enforce Terms, or protect rights, property, and safety
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, asset sale, or restructuring)

6) Third-party services

Our website may use third-party services (for example: security/CDN, analytics, and advertising providers). These providers may collect technical identifiers (such as IP address, user agent, and event data) under their own policies. Our downloadable software contains no third-party services of any kind.

7) Advertising (if enabled)

If ads are shown on our website, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to measure performance and show relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies are blocked. Our downloadable software contains no advertising.

8) Data retention

  • Uploaded files and outputs: temporary; deleted automatically after a short period.
  • Logs and security records: retained as needed for security, abuse prevention, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Contact form messages: retained to respond and maintain a support history.
  • Downloadable software: nothing is retained by us, because nothing is collected. Your settings stay on your own computer until you delete them.

9) Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the Service, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use the Service at your own risk and avoid uploading sensitive content.

Always download our software from readygotools.com or from an official store listing published by us. We cannot vouch for copies obtained from anywhere else, and files redistributed by third parties may have been altered.

10) International users

ReadyGoTools is operated from Ontario, Canada, but may be accessed worldwide. If you access the Service from outside Canada, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in Canada and other locations where our hosting/providers operate.

11) Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, please contact us using our Contact page.

12) Use at your own risk, no warranty, and limitation of liability

You use the Service, including any software you download from us, entirely at your own risk.

THE SERVICE AND ALL SOFTWARE WE PROVIDE ARE SUPPLIED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE OR SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ACCURATE, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, READYGOTOOLS AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR DOWNLOAD, INSTALLATION, OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY SOFTWARE WE PROVIDE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, AND PUNITIVE DAMAGES, AND ANY DAMAGE TO OR MALFUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER, MONITOR, DISPLAY, GRAPHICS HARDWARE, OPERATING SYSTEM, OR OTHER SOFTWARE; ANY LOSS OR CORRUPTION OF DATA; ANY LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; AND ANY PERSONAL INJURY, EYE STRAIN, HEADACHE, OR OTHER HEALTH EFFECT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our software changes display settings such as brightness and colour on your computer. It is a convenience utility. It is not a medical device, it is not a health product, and nothing we publish is medical advice. It is not certified for use in colour-critical, safety-critical, medical, or any other environment where a change in screen brightness or colour could cause harm or loss. Do not rely on it in such settings, and consult a qualified professional about any concern relating to your eyes, sleep, or health.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limitations above apply to the fullest extent permitted by law, and our total liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Use.

13) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when updates are posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
